Esta obra explora la experiencia del recorrido como metáfora de la conexión entre el ser humano y la montaña.Como visión artística de los senderos del Cerro Chirripó, la composición sitúa al espectador frente a un camino de piedra que se adentra en la inmensidad del paisaje, evocando la noción de tránsito, esfuerzo y descubrimiento.
La presencia dominante del cielo, construido mediante pinturas alquídicas sobre un bastidor mojado, introduce un componente atmosférico y dinámico donde las formas fluidas y las texturas espontáneas sugieren el movimiento constante del viento, la humedad y las nubes de alta montaña. El agua vertido sobre el bastidor como parte de la técnica, interviene en el proceso pictórico como un agente transformador, aportando efectos imprevisibles que reflejan el carácter cambiante del entorno natural.
El contraste entre la solidez de las rocas del sendero y la amplitud del espacio celeste establece un diálogo entre permanencia y transformación. La vegetación que rodea el camino reafirma la vitalidad del páramo, mientras que la montaña en el horizonte actúa como un punto de referencia simbólico. La obra busca capturar la sensación de contemplación y trascendencia que surge al recorrer el Chirripó, donde cada paso se convierte en una experiencia de encuentro con la naturaleza y con uno mismo.


This work explores the experience of the journey as a metaphor for the connection between human beings and the mountain. As an artistic vision of the trails of Cerro Chirripó, the composition places the viewer before a stone path that leads into the immensity of the landscape, evoking notions of passage, effort, and discovery. The dominant presence of the sky, created using alkyd paints on a wet canvas, introduces an atmospheric and dynamic element in which fluid forms and spontaneous textures suggest the constant movement of wind, moisture, and high-mountain clouds. Water poured onto the canvas as part of the technique intervenes in the painting process as a transformative agent, producing unpredictable effects that reflect the ever-changing character of the natural environment. The contrast between the solidity of the rocks along the path and the vastness of the sky establishes a dialogue between permanence and transformation. The vegetation surrounding the path reaffirms the vitality of the pá, ramo, while the mountain on the horizon serves as a symbolic point of reference. The work seeks to capture the sense of contemplation and transcendence that emerges when traversing Chirripó, where each step becomes an encounter with nature and with oneself.
